Halloween Den Day 1

We had to start somewhere I guess and we have a couple of helpers today to get things underway.

It’s more Autumnal than scarey Halloween to be honest but those pumpkins will get faces tomorrow and the kids are hard at work this afternoon making paper bats.

All we need now is a big hairy spider…

Halloween Dress Up for Crumlin

Family Photographer CorkDress up, Call in, get a Free Photo

This Thursday and Friday we’ll be hosting a special event in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospial and the Ronal McDonald House.

We’ll be busy in the next couple of days setting up a ‘Halloween Den’ in the Gallery and we’ll be inviting local kids to come in between 11am and 3pm on Thursday and Friday to come in and get their picture taken.

Everyone will get a free print and there’ll be the chance to make a donation to these special children’s charities.

We’d love to get as many kids into the Gallery to please help spread the word.

We’ve already made the Cork Independent and we’re hoping the Echo will feature the event this evening.

The Small Fella is of course loving seeing himself all over Douglas!

Stay tuned for more updates including some early shots of the Den as we start getting it together.

Back in the Bank

We’re just back from hanging another stand in the bank: this time in the Douglas Branch of AIB on the Douglas Road.  On the table are more of these special discount vouchers to be used with new sessions taken between now and Christmas.

So if you’re passing in the next two weeks call and and take a look…

Pepperstack Bistro, Aghada

Martin doing his stuff at the Pepperstack Bistro

I’m pleased to annouce the launch of Pepperstack Bistro’s new-look web-site:

http://www.pepperstackbistro.com/

I know Imelda has put a lot of work into the site since we did the photoshoot earlier in the Summer.

The food looks good but I have to say that it tastes even better and you can be assured of warm, friendly service.

Best of Luck with it guys and we’ll be back down there as soon as we can!

Credit also to Green Amber Web Solutions for putting the site together

Updates to Family Photo Galleries

It’s been a while coming but I have finally posted updates to the galleries on the main site.

http://www.roblambphoto.com/galleries.htm

So there is some more recent work included there as well as some old favourites.  There have been a lot of sessions since the last update and it was hard work choosing a handful of representitive images.  I know the Misses will sit and look at pictures all day but I decided to limit the number of images on the Galleries to make them more usable.

If you want to see more just call in to the Gallery and we can talk about how a session might work for you and I can show you how similar sessions have worked out.

Also there are still no Wedding Galleries on the web site – that would need almost a full web site to itself.  I’m not a fan of photography web sites in two halves (no more than I am of highly animated sites) and I feel that talking through a wedding portfolio is so much better done in person.  It is an important decision to choose a wedding photographer.

Anyway, enjoy the new on-line galleries.  Any feedback is very welcome. There are some more updates due (including the commercial work gallery).

Lastly a big thank you to everyone who came back to me with consent to use their images on-line.  I’m proud of your pictures and I’m glad you are too!

A Move in the Bank

Wer’e ust back from moving the display in the bank to the Commerical Section of AIB, 66, South Mall.  We also took the opportunity to add a slideshow on their TV.

So there’s still a chance to see the display and pick up a print voucher if you’re in town.

Updates

After a summer of good intentions I’m finally getting to work on updates to the web site.   I’ve nearly finished working on updating the Galleries with more recent images and they should be uploaded in the next week or so.

But I’ve started with an update to the Terms and Conditions of Business on the site.

http://www.roblambphoto.com/termsconditions.htm

I know these look a little scarey but I believe all professional services should clearly state the terms and conditions under which they normally do business. This about being open.

The other thing to note is that if anything in these conditions does not match the way in which you want to use my services then it is possible to vary these terms on a job by job basis.

Taken to the Bank

We’re just back from setting up a stand at the Bank.  Earlier this year AIB invited us to put up a promotional stand at 66, South Mall.

We spent most of last week running around organising a few things and we’re pleased to say that it went up this morning.

AIB, 66 South Mall

On the table is a special promotional voucher for a free 8×12 print with every session booked between now and Christmas.  There are more details on the promotions page.

I’d like the chance to thank Print XPress on Tramore Road and DMOS for pulling out the stops to get things to me in time for the stand to go up this week.  I really meant to allow two weeks to get this thing organised between the jigs and the reels it all happened last week!

So if you’re in town, why not pop in and take a look!

CRAFTING: CTN at St Fin Barre’s

This year’s St Fin Barre’s Exhibition by Cork Textile Network is entitled ‘Crafting’ and opens tonight in the Cathedral.

Members of the Network were with me back in March to have the work for the show photographed for the catalogue and promotional post cards which are available at the show.

As always there’s a great variety of amazing Textile Artwork on show.  It’s well worth a look.

The show runs in St Finbarre’s Cathedral until 16th June and is open Mon-Sat 10am-5pm.

Trading Hours

The Gallery will be closed all day tomorrow, Friday 3rd June as I have an all day Wedding Booking.  If you need to contact me urgently please text me on 087 683 8511 or call and leave a voice-mail.

While I’m on the subject, now that Communion Season is over I’ll be returning to normal opening hours at the Gallery, including Mondays, after the long weekend.

So I’m generally always available in the Gallery from 9-10am and 2-3pm every day except Friday mornings (when I attend the B2B Network meetings).

I try to arrange all my photography bookings, viewings, meetings and other appointments around these times as much as possible.  However occassionally this isn’t possible (I can’t leave a wedding to open the Gallery for an hour) but I hope that this isn’t a major inconvienience to anybody on the odd occassion that it’s necessary.

On the flip-side, the Gallery is my office.  So although I’m ‘always’ there 9-10 and 2-3, if I’m not out taking pictures somewhere then I’ll be in the Gallery working on pictures.  The door will be open and you’re welcome to drop in.

I hope this isn’t too confusing.  It’s still early days for us at the Gallery and things will change as we get used to the place.  Hopefully I’ll get some more regular help soon and we can regulate the hours more.

In the meantime, if you want to make sure I’m there it’s always best to call ahead.

We might change things a bit over the summer given that there’s no school runs to sync with – again I guess we’ll see how it goes.  The Gallery will be closed completely when we’re actaully on holidays ourselves – I’ll post details here when that occurs.
